Beech Park Counselling & Psychotherapy
My name is Melanie, and I set up this practice with the intention of creating a safe environment where people can speak freely without fear of judgement. Many clients arrive feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of where to turn, and my role is to walk alongside them as they begin to untangle those feelings. Therapy is not about quick fixes; it is about understanding patterns, building awareness, and making meaningful change over time. Every session is tailored to what the client needs in that moment, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Beech Park Counselling & Psychotherapy is a private practice based in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, offering a calm and confidential space for emotional healing and personal development. I provide counselling and psychotherapy sessions designed to help individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and resilience. The work I do is grounded in empathy, trust, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story.

Counsellor Kildare
As a counsellor in Kildare, I work as an integrative therapist, meaning I draw from different therapeutic models depending on what suits the client best. No two people experience life in the same way, so it makes sense that therapy should reflect that individuality. I often combine person-centred therapy, CBT-informed techniques, and trauma-aware approaches to create a balanced and supportive experience.

Online Counselling
Online counselling offers a practical and accessible way to receive therapy without needing to travel. I provide secure online sessions for clients who prefer to attend from home, work, or any private space that feels comfortable. This flexibility can be especially helpful for people with busy schedules, mobility issues, or those who simply feel more at ease in familiar surroundings.

Anxiety
Anxiety can feel like a constant background noise that refuses to switch off. It often shows up as racing thoughts, physical tension, or a sense of unease that is difficult to explain. In my work with anxiety, I help clients understand what triggers these responses and how to regain a sense of control.

Depression & Low Mood
Depression and low mood can drain energy, motivation, and hope, making even simple tasks feel overwhelming. In therapy, I provide a space where these feelings can be spoken about openly without pressure or expectation. Simply being heard can often be the first step toward change.

Bereavement & Loss
Grief is a deeply personal experience that does not follow a set timeline. I provide a supportive space where clients can express their loss in whatever way feels right for them. There is no right or wrong way to grieve. We explore emotions such as sadness, anger, guilt, and confusion while gently working toward acceptance. The goal is not to move on quickly, but to integrate the loss into life in a way that feels manageable.

Anger
Anger is often misunderstood, but it is a natural and important emotion. In therapy, I help clients explore what lies beneath anger, such as hurt, frustration, or unmet needs. Understanding this can shift how anger is expressed. We work on communication skills, self-awareness, and coping strategies. The goal is not to suppress anger, but to express it in a healthier and more constructive way.

Personal Growth
Personal growth therapy focuses on self-discovery, confidence, and emotional development. Many clients come to therapy not because something is “wrong,” but because they want more from life. This might involve improving self-esteem or finding direction. I support clients in identifying values, strengths, and goals.

Relationships & Couples Counselling
Relationship difficulties can create emotional distance and misunderstanding. In couples counselling, I help partners communicate more effectively and understand each other’s needs. This creates space for repair and reconnection. We explore patterns of interaction, emotional triggers, and unmet expectations. The focus is on rebuilding trust and improving emotional safety. Strong relationships are built through understanding and effort from both sides.
Parenting
Parenting can be both rewarding and overwhelming, especially during difficult developmental stages. I work with parents who want to better understand their child’s emotional needs and behaviours. We explore strategies for communication, boundaries, and emotional support. The aim is to strengthen the parent-child relationship and create a more stable home environment. Small shifts in approach can lead to meaningful changes.
